I understand using the race card can get annoying and sometimes unwarranted. Caught a glimpse of them pinning him to the ground, but of course they did not film the actual beating. The subsequent interrogation was quite cringey as my friend obviously did not know how to respond to the questions (Hint: You shut up and say nothing). Also while your friend is scummy (sorry) people should not attack others like that they could kill someone who is innocent. So these people need to be stopped. And your friend needs help like for what he tried to do , not just getting beat up. | Geiki Ganger 03/13/21 3:33:55 PM #1 | My friend was baited by this vigilante group posing as an under-age girl. The "girl' asked my friend to go over to her place at night. My friend sadly agreed. When he showed up outside the girl's apartment, he was confronted by the vigilante group. He tried to run away, failed, and got beaten up by the group. They then interrogated my friend, who admitted everything. Facepalm, yes. Luckily, some bystander called the cops after seeing my friend getting beaten up. The cop showed up before the group was done interrogating my friend and took down notes and information from all parties involved. Then he let everyone go. The vigilante group is now calling and messaging my friend's employers and friends, basically making sure he gets cancelled. They probably will succeed. In retaliation, my friend now wants me to help him sue for damages from the battery and loss of reputation. I think he has a good case for battery because he was actually pretty badly injured (whether they actually have money to pay him is another question though). The concern I have is that if I act for my friend, the group might try to cancel me or my firm for helping him. I'm not worried about potential personal attacks, but I can't risk my firm's reputation. However, I also don't want the group to get away with blatant battery.
